Stanley Martin Lieber, December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018, co-created numerous popular fictional characters, including superheroes Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, the Black Widow and Captain Marvel.
- The New York City Council voted on July 23, 2019 to name a section of University Avenue in the Bronx as "Stan Lee Way".
- On July 18, 2017, as part of D23 Disney Legends event, a ceremony was held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard where Stan Lee imprinted his hands, feet, and signature in cement.
- Stan Lee is congratulated by President George W. Bush on receiving the National Medal of Arts in 2008.
